Ideas for a 'no gym workout'
It’s easy to get hung up in the same ol’ routine of working out at the gym. There are just those days when you need a change of space, when you need to get out and do something different.
Below are some suggestions for a 'no gym workout' that will give you a change from your regular gym with some different workouts that will recharge you for when you go back.
• Run the stairs at the stadium or high rise
• Use a climbing wall
• Do your own triathalon (go swimming, bike and then a jog)
• Play a game of basketball (great HIIT workout)
• Plyometrics on the beach
• Yoga in the park
• Cross-country skiing
• Go mountain biking
• Workout at a playground (pull ups, push ups, lunges, etc.)
• Play tennis
• Join a dragon boat/go canoeing
• Join a soccer team
• Jog on the beach (easier said than done)
• Play street hockey
• Take a martial arts class
• Do sprints up a hill (frontwards and backwards)
These are just some alternatives to working out at the gym. They are ideas as to what you can do to get away from your regular routine but ensure you’re still getting a great workout.
